Dear bambooYOGA community,

At this time, as things are beginning to reopen, there are still many restrictions and limitations on indoor fitness classes. The new requirements will be costly and difficult to maintain, especially with limited capacity/social distancing. We have done our best to preserve our community and are so grateful for the support of our valued members that have been with us online. It has meant so much to be able to “see” your faces and know that we are working through these challenges together. Without the support of our friends, family and community, the challenges of this unprecedented time would have been far greater for us all.

When we look to the teaching of yoga, one Yama in particular comes to mind at present: Aparigraha. This is the last Yama in the Eight Limbs of Yoga. It is often translated as non-hoarding, non-greed or non-attachment. This important Yama teaches us to take only what we need, keep only what serves us in the moment and let go when the time is right. Letting go can be difficult, but is often necessary.

After more than a year of operation at a significant loss, we are no longer able to maintain bambooYOGA. Our resources are exhausted and with no clear finish line in sight we are unable to continue operations. This decision was not taken lightly, but after months of facing significant financial losses we simply cannot continue. As a result, our last day of classes was Friday April 30th , 2021.

We are so incredibly proud of our teachers and desk managers. Our team came together to provide community, yoga practice and hope during the darkest of times. We hope we have provided you with the tools and knowledge to sustain and grow your yoga practice, as hope now glimmers on the horizon.

We are so grateful to all of you who have practiced with us online, we could have never made it this far without our beautiful Sangha. Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this difficult transition. In the coming weeks, we will provide you with the contact information necessary to stay in touch with and/or continue to practice with any of our teachers that will still be providing online instruction. We wish you peace, love and light.

With love and gratitude,

Angela and the bambooYOGA team
